Taiwan Free Trade Agreements

10 Oct

The United States can offer another way. The People`s Republic of China has concluded bilateral trade agreements with the blocs, countries and their two special administrative regions:[13] Taiwan reiterated on Sunday its desire to join the CPTPP and negotiators are in Washington this week to work out a possible free trade agreement with the United States. Nearly two decades later, this year`s revival is mainly driven by a broader shift in mindset in Washington regarding U.S.-China relations, characterized by the U.S.`s general desire to increase its influence over China for broader “strategic competition” between the two powerful nations. Proponents are now pointing to the economic and geopolitical benefits of a closer trade and investment relationship between the U.S. and Taiwan.
